‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' Trailer Release Date Revealed
Fans may soon see the official trailer for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” on screen if the recent reports are confirmed. Sources have supposedly revealed that the preview will be available with the theatrical release of “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
Sources have confirmed with Collider that the first trailer for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will come with the screening of Tom Hardy’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” on May 15. “I’m told it’s absolutely attached to all copies of 'Mad Max: Fury Road,' which is an obvious place for it to debut seeing as how 'Mad Max' is WB’s first big movie of the summer,” writer Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub said.
Before the May 15 trailer release was reportedly confirmed, Warner Bros. was debating whether to have it released end of April or start of May, since by then “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will still be on every media’s radar, what with its theatrical release set for May 1 in the U.S. and late April across all other countries. The “Avengers” sequel will also premiere in Los Angeles on April 13.
The studio is reportedly trying to catch the perfect time when people will no longer be talking about “Avengers: Age of Ultron” by the time the trailer for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is released. “If they wait until the weekend 'Mad Max' opens on May 15th, 'Avengers' will have already been out for two weeks and they can take over the conversation at a time when everyone is ready to talk about Batman and Superman,” Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub added.
Additionally, Slashfilm claimed there are two other options available for the studio to choose the perfect time to release the trailer. It’s either Warner Bros. release it online earlier in the week before May 15 or possibly a week after the “Mad Max: Fury Road” screening on theatres.
According to Slashfilm, the May 15 release on the first trailer for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” also comes a few weeks after Disney and Lucasfilm release another preview of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The bottom line, what Warner Bros. supposedly wants to make sure is that “BVS” dominates all the buzz when they release the trailer until mid-May. By then, all the hype about “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens” may have reportedly already died down.
