Battle of the Phablets: Samsung, Nokia, and HTC All Rolling Out Leaks and Confirmations
Before the year caps to a close, it seems that the phablet trend will be at its peak as several players in the market are getting ready to roll out their own phablets.
Samsung is in the lead, after several leaks pertaining to its Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The device's features have all been rumoured, from the 5.7-inch screen to the newest addition, which is the 4K video recording support.
As the September 4 reveal date draws nearer, new sightings of a case for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been reported. Sighted by Gotta Be Mobile, there are now accessories for the device swimming around online and ready for purchase.
There are 11 variants of a case accessory from Hyperion, with two already shown off in black and purple. The price tag for the accessory is pegged at $.99.
On Mobile Fun, a quick search for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 reveals that there are a variety of unofficial accessories, from a liquid glass screen protector from Crystalusion for $10.99 to desk stands and Bluetooth headsets for the phone.
Now all that is needed would be the official unveiling of the device so that fans who are planning to get it can already preorder their accessories soon.
HTC One Max leaked
HTC is also not one to easily rest on the laurels of the HTC One and has already been rumoured to be working on the HTC One Max, supposedly the 5.9-inch tablet.
According to Phone Arena, HTC One Max is like the other to the HTC One in terms of design, displaying similar look and feel, though this time, it will be targeting the dual SIM-toting markets.
The specs that have already been leaked include the 1080p Super LCD3 display, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC, 3200 or 330 mAh battery, and 2 GB of RAM.
More recently, Phandroid has reported new specs sightings, particularly one that features a fingerprint reader on the back of the device. Speculations are now debating on whether the spotted feature is merely the power button or if it actually has a fingerprint reader embedded on it.
The report also points out another feature that competitor Samsung already has in its smartphone Galaxy S4. This feature is said to be the dual-shot mode, where you make use of both of the cameras on the device.

Nokia Lumia 1520 or Bandit is the brand's phablet
Unwilling to be left behind in the phablet industry, Nokia has also been rumoured to be going for the bigger screen with the Nokia Lumia 1520, previously known as the Nokia Bandit.
WPCentral has even provided the supposed first photo of the device. It also reports that the Nokia Lumia 1520 may be made of a polycarbonate body featuring a 20-megapixel PureView camera, instead of taking after the more recent Lumia 928.
The inside of the device has also been rumoured, displaying the quad-core Snapdragon CPU and Windows Phone 8 GDR3 with 1080p support as the core inside.
So far, Nokia is also expected to reveal the Nokia Lumia 1520 before September ends which means that it may not necessarily go head to head with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at the IFA Berlin. But this can change, depending on Nokia's official announcement of its plans.
