Bethesda present at Gamescom 2015 and new ‘Fallout 4’ details revealed
Many developers are currently in Cologne, Germany for Gamescom 2015. Among the developers making an appearance is Bethesda, who has brought with it a Vault-Tec van.
VG247 reports that Bethesda will have its own booth at the gaming conference. Images show a van that sports the logo and the yellow and blue theme of Vault-Tec from the “Fallout universe.” It is not yet known what Bethesda could unveil at Gamescom, but it is sure to be news regarding “Fallout 4.”
With the release of “Fallout 4” nearing, gamers are beginning to get a feel of the experience that’s waiting for them in the new entry in the series. Both the “Elder Scrolls” and “Fallout” series are known for giving players hours upon hours of game time. But a new report shows that Bethesda has upped the ante with over 400 hours of gameplay for “Fallout 4.”
Bethesda has recently revealed that even the team behind the game still has to explore the world of “Fallout 4” completely. Compared to its previous iterations, “Fallout 4” may be the most massive world as of yet. In an interview with Gamepresso, Bethesda’s Lead Producer Jeff Gardiner said that he has been exploring the wastelands of Boston for over 400 hours now and there’s still new things to find.
Gardiner also said that the game’s length can partly be attributed to the game’s crafting system. According to him, players are required to look for very specific items. But of course, the game will not let players go through the painstaking process of exploring every nook and cranny. Players can mark items so that the map will show them where that specific item is.
The crafting system allows players to create an array of items including a Brahmin, which could carry goods, and of course as mods to the game’s weapons. “Fallout 4” will feature 50 base weapons and 700 weapon mods.
Aside from that, we can expect that the game itself will be riddled with quests and side quests that will also consume a lot of hours. Like in previous entries, the player will of course have to deal with choices that could alter the game’s storyline. It was previously revealed that Bethesda will adhere to its goal of giving players absolute freedom within the post-apocalyptic setting. With Bethesda’s new “Creation” engine, the developer has ensured that the world will be fully explorable and massive.
Fallout 4 will launch on Nov. 10 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Since its announcement last June, “Fallout 4,” has been getting pre-orders by the thousands. The prized Pip-Boy editions have also been a hit, but Bethesda has stopped its production last July.
