‘BioShock iOS’ delisted from Apple AppStore [UPDATED]
[UPDATE] 2K China has reached out to Touch Arcade to confirm that they are working on a fix for the iOS version of "Bioshock." It said that the removal of the game from the App Store was due to the developer working to fix the game for iOS versions 8.4 and higher.
“BioShock” has received generally positive reviews for its PC version, paving the way to the creation of the mobile port “BioShock iOS.” However, despite the good reception that the port received, it appears that developer has completely removed it from the Apple Store.
Its removal from the AppStore is not just a pull-off from the digital market, but rather a complete de-listing, TechnoBuffalo reported. The game will now be unavailable even to those who have previously purchased the game before. What this means is that previous owners of the port will no longer have access to it as it has also been removed from iOS devices.
The port was developed by 2K China. The iOS version retained every detail of the original game, with the only difference being downgraded graphics so that it could run smoothly on iPhones and iPads.
2K released an email to Touch Arcade. It issued a statement regarding the delisting of the game, but The it did not state a specific reason why “BioShock iOS” has been pulled out but it could have been removed as it has been unplayable for quite a while now. Anyone whose Apple device is running on iOS version 8.4. and above can no longer open the game. 2K addressed the problem and promised that it will be working on a patch for the game. The promise comes short as the game is now officially inaccessible. The email also said that the removal of the game was a decision made by 2K and not Apple.
"I'm terrible sorry for this, if you purchased Bioshock for iOS and you would like a refund, Apple will be of great assistance. Since the transaction wasn't completed through us, we cannot perform a full refund back to you,” said the 2K representative to Touch Arcade.
2K has also been apologetic to its customers. It did not give a solution to those who have already bought the game but it suggested that buyers should ask for a refund from Apple.
