Fans of the first-person series “Mass Effect” recently celebrated their own special N7 day last Nov. 7. Developer Bioware was more than eager to join the fans as it rewarded their appreciation with a new trailer for the upcoming roleplaying game (RPG) “Mass Effect Andromeda.”

The new trailer seems to pass the torch of Commander Shepard to the players of “Mass Effect Andromeda.” The video is narrated by Jennifer Hale. Fans familiar with her voice should insantly recognise it as she is the voice actress for the female Commander Shepard in the “Mass Effect” trilogy.

The trailer does not give a lot of details on what “Mass Effect Andromeda” is about. However, it does give players a glimpse of the game's look with its outstanding engine graphics.

Despite earlier reports from Bioware that the legendary Commander Shepard will not be part of the upcoming RPG, the developer used the character for the trailer. This was reportedly likely done for the game to appeal to longtime series fans.

Not much has been revealed about “Mass Effect Andromeda” yet. Story details are vague as of the moment, but Bioware has said before that the setting of the RPG will be an entire new region of the universe, Eurogamer reports. The story will be fresh, and the character will not be related to Commander Shepard. Bioware also confirmed that the story of “Mass Effect Andromeda” will not be a continuation of the trilogy but will give nod to the previous endeavours of Commander Shepard.

“Mass Effect Andromeda” is scheduled for release next year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. No exact release date has been given for the game, but it is expected to launch sometime in the holiday season.
