For the fight against Manny Pacquiao in May, the father and son combo of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Floyd Mayweather Sr. will team up again and the elder Mayweather stated in recent interview that he’s glad that his son allowed him to be in the corner for the big fight. In the past, there have been reports about past feuds between the two that disallowed Mayweather Sr. to be part of Mayweather Jr.’s team.

"Man, I'm gonna be honest with you, I always thought that my son and Manny Pacquiao would eventually fight, but I'll be honest, I wasn't sure if I would be in his corner or even involved at all. So I gotta tell you, man, I'm on top of the world right now being in my son's corner," Mayweather Sr. said to Fight Hype. "I'm on top of the world in terms of being able to corner him period, but especially for this fight because that was never a guarantee with the way it had got at one point. I'm as happy as I can be and come May 2nd, it's here. The talking and [expletive] is over and we gonna show the world what I have been telling you for years, and that's that Manny "PacMan" Pacquiao is not on the same level as my son.”

The father vs. son feud as been well-documented in the past with the younger Mayweather choosing to train with uncle, and Floyd Sr.’s brother, Roger for more than a decade. In 2013, the pair made up and teamed up in the fight against Robert Guerrero and has ever since been in the same corner together.

Mayweather Sr. is a former professional boxer and a respected trainer who has handled fights by popular boxers like Chad Dawson Joan Guzman, Laila Ali, Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton. Mayweather Sr. has been one of the outspoken persons within the Mayweather camp indulging Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach in a lot of trash talk leading up to the big fight.

For Mayweather Jr.’s biggest career fight, Mayweather Sr. is glad that their past feuds have been forgotten and that he’s involved in the super fight against Manny Pacquiao.
