Originally funded by a very successful Kickstarter campaign, “Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse” appears to be on its way to its first current-gen console in the PlayStation 4. The title by Revolution Software originally came out for the PC, Mac, PlayStation Vita, iOS devices and Android devices, garnering a warm reception from fans and critics alike.

It was revealed through a German Amazon page that a PlayStation 4 version of “Broken Sword 5” will definitely be coming out soon. The game is apparently slated for a June 26 release date, meaning that the game is only three months away from a full-blown release.

An interesting aspect to note about this version of the game is it is called “Broken Sword 5: Premium Edition.” While the title is expected to boast improved visuals for the PlayStation 4 console, the fact that it’s called the “premium edition” implies that there could be more improvements made to the game, like additional storylines or some bonus missions that have yet to be announced.

The premium edition of the game will include both episodes of “Broken Sword 5” that came out back in 2013. Gamespot reports that the title will come out for a price of $30, while the current Steam version of the game is $25 for both episodes.

For the uninitiated, “Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse” is a 2D adventure game done in a third person perspective, similar to “Fables: The Wolf Among Us.” The game follows protagonists George and Nico as they attempt to solve a mystery surrounding a seemingly worthless painting getting stolen in an art museum while also finding the thief who murdered a man to get the painting.

As mentioned earlier, “Broken Sword 5” came out to critical acclaim, which is probably the main reason it’s getting a PlayStation 4 re-release. The title currently boasts 919 very positive reviews on its Steam Page, which should be considered very impressive as 919 good remarks is nothing to sneeze at. Interestingly enough, “Broken Age,” another Kickstarted-funded adventure game, will also be getting a PlayStation 4 re-release sometime this year with both episodes also bundled.
