‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’ And ‘Battlefield Hardline’ Get Dev Updates, Predictions and Expected Events
"Battlefield 4" has been a continuing project in the developer's attempt to fix the issues that have been plaguing the game since it was launched. Considering the fan frustration that the title has received, the default question of the fans for the upcoming "Battlefield Hardline" is pretty obvious: how different will this new "Battlefield" iteration be this time around?
This is exactly what Visceral Games creative director Ian Milham aimed to answer in an interview with GameRevolution. In the exclusive, Milham gave a short version of the answer--"'Is your game going to work?' and the answer is yes"--followed by an explanation as to why this is the case.
According to the source, Milham explained that "Battlefield Hardline" has been in production since before "Battlefield 4." With the firs beta already done successfully, another beta is on the way to ensure that the title is as polished as can be. Still, this does not mean that the developer is not expecting a few setbacks. With five platforms to release on, they still have some reserves for potential hiccups, but the big launch is expected to go as smoothly as possible.
Visceral Games has reiterated their aim of making "Battlefield Hardline" as far from the launch fiasco that "Battlefield 4" has experienced as possible, with a new blog post over at the Battlefield Blog.
"The extra time given to us by EA to perfect 'Battlefield Hardline' is really paying off. We're using every additional day to make the game better--based on improvements suggested by your feedback," Visceral Games lead MP designer Thad Sasser said over Battlefield Blog.
"Battlefield Hardline" has been delayed to 2015, but it appears that the developers have been conducting a lot of improvements towards the next beta, though they did not provide any more details to this. As far as improvements go, there may be some coming for the game modes, the maps and the competitive-focused modes.
Its ongoing rival despite different themes for this round, "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" is also being compared to its last installment, "Call of Duty: Ghosts." But this time, the outlook is not as hopeful. According to Cinema Blend, an analyst from Sterne Agee, a research firm, has stated that compared to 2013's COD title, "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" may be looking at fewer copies sold.
If the prediction could be believed, then Sledgehammer Games may see a three million dip in the sales compared to the 20 million expected shipment and sales. This prediction is based on the reception of gamers of "Call of Duty: Ghosts, which was not as great as expected. There is also an attribution to the dip in sales for the last-gen consoles PS3 and Xbox 360, though it should also be considered that "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" is releasing for next-gen consoles and the PC.
If you are one of those who are thinking of preordering "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare," then an exclusive event is coming up. Hardcore Gamer reports that there will be a "Call of Duty: Six Flags Invasion" happening on Nov. 1, and those with preorders from GameStop can get a $20 discount on theme park admission.
But the actual event will have exclusive ride times, prizes and trail tickets offered for free for the Fright Fest terror, which are all for free. The game can also be preordered at Six Flags, though it was not expounded on whether the game will be available for preorders at the actual site.
