'Castle' Season 7 Finale Spoilers: Kate Beckett Faces A Crossroads, 'Castle' Season 8 Update
There are only two more episodes left in “Castle” Season 7. The penultimate episode is the 150th episode of the series. This episode is going to be a “buoyant, classic episode of “Castle,” while the final episode is a high-stake episode, with an end that is not going to be a traditional cliff-hanger, as there is still uncertainty surrounding “Castle” Season 8.

The final episode of “Castle” Season 7, titled “Hollander’s Woods,” will see Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) facing a crossroads, most probably because of her professional life. This season Beckett married Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) and she also put an end to 3XK mythology and solved plenty of high-profile murder cases, with her husband’s help.
However, Beckett realised that despite a high success rate as a homicide detective, she does not have much to show when it comes to her professional growth. After that realisation, she was seen preparing for Captain’s exam.
Speaking about Beckett’s dilemma in the final episode, “Castle” creator told TV Guide that Beckett will be seen wrestling "some very interesting choices as far as her career is concerned. It's more complicated than just issues within the NYPD."
In addition to Beckett’s storyline, the episode 23 will answer why Castle became a mystery writer. Also, he will be revisiting a terrifying event that happened when he was 11-years-old.
“Castle Season 8 Update
ABC has yet to officially renew “Castle” for another season. According to some reports, the series is likely to return, with Season 8, and ABC is most likely to confirm its renewal when it announces its line up of shows for this fall. It is also being reported that “Castle” 8 is virtually confirmed, as Fillion has renewed his contract for a year. However, Katic, who recently got married to her long time beau Kris Brkljac in Croatia, has still to sign on her new contract. And other cast members reportedly continue to negotiate their new contracts with “Castle” producer, ABC Studio.
If there is “Castle” Season 8, David Amann is not returning as the show-runner. He is exiting the series after Season 7 wraps up. He took over the showrunner responsibility from Marlowe after Season 6.
