‘Castle’ Season 8 Update: Ryan-Esposito Bromance Confirmed To Go On In Funny Social Media Posts
“Castle” Season 8 has been made official by ABC’s renewal order. Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion are returning as Kate Beckett and Rick Castle, respectively. Next to make announcements are Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas as Kevin Ryan and Javier Esposito, the bromance duo in the series. Dever and Huertas made separate updates in their social media accounts.
Contracts of the cast members of “Castle” expired at the end of Season 7. There were rumours that the series was ending. Creator Andrew W. Marlowe even spoke about crafting a finale that could both give a Season 8 preview and provide a satisfying closure at the same time.
Nathan Fillion signed on for “Castle” Season 8 ahead of ABC’s renewal order. Stana Katic announced her return as Kate Beckett shortly after ABC’s official order. Their new contracts quelled rumors that Season 7 would be the final season of the series.
For his part, Seamus Dever once expressed his uncertainty about “Castle” Season 8. In an interview, Dever said no one has spoken to him about a follow-up season.
“I'd like to have some answers because my family wants to know if I'm going to be employed. But right now it's really up in the air,” Dever earlier said in an interview with TV Guide. He recently changed his tune, and Jon Huertas also made sure the fans know their characters’ bromance goes on.
Using the popular Dubsmash app, Jon Huertas humoured his Instagram followers about Esposito’s return in “Castle” Season 8. He also posted a link to his Insta post on Twitter.
Both Huertas and Dever delivered their good news with music. Here is Dever’s tweet about “Castle” Season 8. Tamala Jones also hinted in a response to Katic’s announcement that Lanie is also returning.
Spoiler alert for those who have not seen the finale of “Castle” Season 7: Stana Katic’s Kate Beckett is considering running for senator. She has some exploratory talks with the New York State’s Attorney, and her husband Rick Castle is supportive about the idea.
“Castle” Season 8 is expected to premiere on ABC around the final quarter of the year. New showrunners Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley are on board as new showrunners, replacing David Amann who took the helm in Season 7.
