A death hoax report about the iconic "My Heart will Go On" singer Celine Dion surfaced on social networking site Facebook on Saturday, November 9, and it continued to spread on Twitter as thousands of her fans search for the answer to their question: "Is Celine Dion dead?" The 45-year-old Canadian singer, who is very much alive and doing well, expressed her anger over the fake death reports that circulated on the Internet.

Ms Dion revealed that being a death hoax victim has "made her a little mad" due to the emotional effect of the cruel prank to her family - daughter Renee, twin boys Nelson and Eddy, her husband René Angélil and most especially her 86-year-old mother. "Sometimes it's freaky because I have to call my family about it. I was celebrating the birthday of my twins in Montreal and I was getting these phone calls saying there was stuff on Facebook that I was dead," Celine recalled.

The upset singer further shared: "The thing that worries me is my mum. It makes me a little mad - she's 86 years old and if I'm not on the phone telling her I'm OK four seconds after it's on the news... it doesn't matter what they say, it's the impact it has on your family."

Now, Celine Dion joins the favorite Internet death hoax target Jackie Chan after the fake death stories about the famous singer surfaced on social media site Facebok and had her fans alarmed. For instance, one report claimed Ms Dion died in a car crash while the other stated that the singer had died from a plane crash.

According to the 7News report, the Celine Dion death hoax started on Facebook via an app that utilizes logos coming from distinguished news outlets that attracts the Netizens to click the death report link. The report reads: "The Facebook posts link to a rogue Facebook app that Facebook has been shutting down as it gets reports of it. Some of the posts bear well-known news logos to entice people to click. Do not click on any Facebook post that links to the purported story of her death."
