Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are rumoured to be interested in joining the race to land Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata.

The Blues playmaker has been and is still experiencing nightmarish treatment under the helm of Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, despite winning two successive Chelsea Player of the Year awards preceding the 2013/14 season.

Mata was caught to have reacted furiously after being taken off in just 8 minutes after the restart in their game against Southampton, while being an unused substitute in their latest 2-0 win against Hull City on Saturday.

Meanwhile, according to local newspaper Bild, Bayern boss Josep Guardiola is a fan of the midfielder's game and is considering luring his fellow Spaniard to come to Germany coupled with a £20 million offer for the west London club.

The move, however, will not take place until the summer arrives as the 25-year-old is not eligible to represent the Bavarians in the Champions League this season because of his participation with Chelsea.

The Premier League behemoth has recently suffered a total of £49.4 million in losses in their annual financial report and will be definitely eyeing for the highest bidder in disposing Mata.
