Cocaine Use Traced Near Ward Where Kate Middleton Expected To Deliver Second Royal Baby
Traces of cocaine were reportedly found in Kate Middleton’s hospital toilet at St. Mary’s. As the world awaits the birth of the second royal baby, the hospital has launched an investigation to know why drug use evidence has been uncovered yards from the private hospital ward where the Duchess of Cambridge is expected to give birth.
Tests confirmed that someone indeed snorted cocaine in the sensitive location, reports Mirror UK. Health chiefs are now looking seriously into the matter and have promised to take immediate action against anyone found to be using drugs at the hospital. The issue has become a matter of major concern, as the rest of the world is waiting anxiously for the Duchess to give birth in the said hospital. Scores of hardcore fans have camped outside St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, West London.
Middleton is said to be already overdue and no one can take any chance of anything untoward happening at the hospital, that could affect the birth of the second royal baby. A spokesperson of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has assured that that they take the safety of their patients "extremely seriously." This is why they have round-the-clock security with regular patrols and CCTV installed in key areas, within and outside the buildings. Also security teams man the footage constantly.
“We work closely with police to investigate reports thoroughly and take action to ensure the safety of our colleagues, patients and their families,” the spokesperson said. “If there are signs that a person is abusing substances on one of our sites we will take immediate action to address this." A team from Mirror UK even used drug testing wipes to determine for themselves if the said discovery of drug use at the toilet did happen. According to Mirror, the wipes tested positive for Class A drug.
Meanwhile, as the Duchess is already overdue, many have started worrying. There are also speculations that Middleton would have to undergo induced labor. Sources have told Daily Telegraph that the due date was on April 23. A parent, who has also given birth at the Lindo Wing claimed that doctors at the hospital do not wait more than a week before inducing the labour. It is speculated that doctors already talked with Middleton to decide on the best date for her to get admitted in the hospital and be induced.
