Even with the recent release of the 1.1.1 update for “Destiny,” developer Bungie has already released its plans for the 1.1.2 update. The developer hinted at this in the recent blog update.

What is clear and confirmed for the 1.1.2 update is that it will come before “House of Wolves” DLC is released. Community manager DeeJ did not go into any details, though he did promise that the contents will be rolled out in the coming weeks. In addition, he will be giving a background of the people who are working on the 1.1.2 update.

As far as the after effects of the update 1.1.1, players can expect a fix for the 4th Horseman, seeing as how the patch notes were not accurate with the rolled out updates. In the next fix, the magazine size, rate of fire and stability of the weapon will be modified and corrected as per the patch notes.

A New Bug In the Companion App

For “Destiny” players who have been using the “Destiny” Companion App, a word of caution has been given by the developer. It appears that a new bug has been spotted, where players can lose the items that they are attempting to move using the app.

GameSpot reports that the most recent update has now caused some side effects, including the reported surge in “WEASEL” errors. While that issue has already been dealt with, losing items via the app is something that players will want to steer clear of. Bungie is still investigating the cause but for safety purposes, make sure to check inventories and always exercise caution when using the app.

The best solution here may be to avoid the app in the meantime until Bungie is able to roll out a fix. For those who want to help Bungie, those who have experienced the bug can report findings in the link here.

Boxing, A Backbone For ‘Destiny’ Animations

One interesting thing that came out of the “Destiny” panel at the GDC 2015 is the revelation about how the developer worked out the animations. Senior animator David Helsby shared that one of the secrets to making a fluid title from a first-person perspective is using the camera smartly. According to the developer, it relies on the way that the camera moves with the avatar.

To create the best animation from the first-person perspective without throwing off people with motion sickness, the developer turned to boxing. Quoted by Polygon, Helsby stated that the team studied how the boxer’s head moves in relation to the overall action, and applied the same philosophy to “Destiny.”

This is the reason why the boxing observation of the head leading the body has become a big part of the way animations played out in “Destiny.” But in addition to this, Bungie also matched the animation movements with the expansion of the field of view that “Destiny” players can see with their guardians.

This was done with moving the aim point from the usual center of the screen to somewhere a little lower down, so that it can create a more expansive view from the top and the sides. The short clip in the link above shows all of these points. This may be what contributed to how the world in “Destiny” felt so massive and detailed, one of the best points that fans have so far identified in the game.
