For the good part of the holidays, gamers have been affected by issues with their PlayStation Network and Xbox Live accounts. There have been reported issues that prevented players from enjoying access to the online multiplayer aspects of a number of games, including "Destiny."

The originally scheduled Xyr weekend has now been extended by Bungie following the issues. Granted, the issues have been resolved, but it appears that the developer is trying to bring more chances to the players to compensate for the lost time in the game. Community manager David DeeJ Dague has already informed fans of the extension via the Bungie forums.

"We understand that Xur has been hard to reach for a lot of you this weekend, so we're going to extend his stay. Our current plan is to allow him to remain in the Tower with his current inventory until Monday night at 10 p.m. PST, just before the weekly reset," said Dague.

The good thing here is that Bungie has already given some form of assurance that there may still be an extension of the event. If there are more issues, Bungie said that there may be a longer extension that can be provided as needed.

Despite the year coming to a close, however, the developer has something in store for "Destiny" players. Cinema Blend reports that the holiday gifts have been held off for a January delivery.

"Holiday gifts are scheduled for delivery in January. No one is missing out the Cryptarch's good cheer," said DeeJ in a tweet as quoted by Cinema Blend. There's certainly a lot to look forward to for "Destiny." But for now, players are currently enjoying "The Dark Below" expansion pack, which just debuted last Dec. 9. Meanwhile, those who already have access to either the PSN or the Xbox Live can get back to their Xur weekend, where some of the prelisted activities, as reported by Gamepur, include some exotic gear, as well as selling of Armamentarium, Symbiote, Claws and No Land Beyond.
