"Destiny" fans would need to find a new game to indulge in for some hours, as Bungie announced a maintenance window on Nov. 13 for a planned service outage. In a blog update via their official Web site, the developer announced that it is one way of preparing for the upcoming series of updates that will be rolled out in the following weeks.

For the maintenance time window, which will only last a few hours, "Destiny" will be unplayable. The developer did mention that once services are up, gameplay resumes. Any updates and improvements will not need any downloads or installments. It will just be for a few short hours, 8 a.m. Pacific time to noon time, if all goes well.

"We know you're anxiously waiting for all the good stuff we promised. This is the beginning of that work," said community manager David "DeeJ" Dague over at the official Bungie Web site.

Speaking of maintenance and fixes, there has been a bug spotted for "Destiny." For those who have been seeing some error code labelled "Newt," you are not alone; a couple of other Guardians have experienced issues that are related to the said code. Gamezone reports it as a result of playing the game as Guardians.

Bungie has already updated its fans and said that the team has already found the Newt bug. Currently, the team is trying to fix the Newt errors, so a fix should be in the works and ready for release immediately.

For those who are still experiencing difficulties and need a quick fix for the meantime, the source mentions a quick solution that was enumerated by Bungie. According to the source, players would need to retry the activity and resume what the Guardian has been doing before the Newt code was encountered.

If the bug is encountered again, you only need to exit "Destiny" and then relaunch it. Gamezone adds that in case the same error occurs, it may be an effect of the testing of bug fixes being done by Bungie, so it's best to wait it out.

These maintenance and bug fixing may be Destiny's preparation for some of the new upgrades previously mentioned, one of which is the suggestion of making the upgrading of materials even easier, according to Game Informer. For players, the added value of this is they can now check first weapons and get a preview before they make their purchase so there's no buyer's remorse in the end.
