‘Destiny’ vs. ‘Titanfall’: Australia-Based Servers Confirmed And A New Map Announced
"Destiny" is now set to launch for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360, but there's another surprise for fans who are based in Australia. With fans having preordered and pre-loaded their copies of "Destiny," developer Bungie releases another piece of information regarding the multiplayer experience of the title.
Bungie reveals that there may be offers for local servers based in Australia for "Destiny." IGN reports that this was announced in tandem with the expected rollout of "Destiny."
"The seamless matchmaking experience in 'Destiny' is designed so it doesn't require locally-hosted servers for most players. But depending on where you are and if it is required to have an optimal experience, there are locally-hosted servers all over the world, including in Australia," Roger Wolfson, Bungie's server software engineering lead, said in a statement quoted by IGN.
Fans are even cheering the fact that Bungie is caring about the state of games for those in Australia, and hopefully, this will facilitate a smoother launch.
On the other end of the shooter games lineup, "Titanfall" is also looking at another DLC bound for release. Developer Respawn Entertainment has teased "IMC Rising: Backwater" by showing off the map and a few screenshots of what to expect in the expansion.
The description for IMC Rising: Backwater is as follows: "High in the mountains, ex-IMC pilot Barker and his fellow colonists have made a comfortable living by producing moonshine in this hidden bootlegging colony."
What's striking about Backwater is its elevation shifts, where you have open fields to face-off with opponents, but also high ground and rice paddies that can turn the battle into a duel of strategies, wits and tactics. According to the developers, the encounters in Backwater will be action-packed, as you can go through the underground storage facilities as Pilots to escape from the Titans.
Backwater is also introducing the idea of ziplines and "no man's land" where the latter is known to be a wide space of area where you don't have any cover. This map basically takes after the design of earlier concepts for "Titanfall," where the rice paddies have even been shown off to fans during the early stages of production for the title.
IMC Rising will be the final DLC release for "Titanfall." There are no release dates scheduled as of yet, though it will probably follow the previous maps, where they were first released on the PC and Xbox One before debuting on the Xbox 360.
