Diablo 3 Servers Down; Gamers Disappointed
Avid Diablo gamers experienced a lot of problems with the latest game due to overwhelming demand.
Highly-anticipated Diablo 3 just hit the market and gamers went to purchase a copy. However, just hours after the game was released, gamers complain about the errors. Gamers found it difficult to enter the game's servers due to the overwhelming numbers of users.
Just this morning, forums heated up with complaints for an error message when attempting to connect with the servers that are necessary for the game.
One user commented in Fairfax Media, "I, along with many thousands (if not millions) of people who bought Diablo III, one of the most anticipated games for 2012, am very pissed off at not being able to play the game."
The game's publisher, Blizzard took note of the issue this morning and posted, "we are aware of the current login issues for Diablo III and are working on finding a solution as quickly as possible and will update this thread as more information becomes available," they said.
Connection errors have taken the form of 'Error 37', 'Error 75' and 'Error 3006' according to posts on the forum. The thread contained 4000 posts of unsatisfied customers brainstorming about the errors.
A lot of gamers waited for a long time for the game to be released. Some customers claimed to be pissed off with the error message showing "'The servers are busy at this time. Please try again later."
Despite Blizzard's reassurances, the game had been released for over 18 hours with known issues before an official statement was released. It seems that Blizzard forgot the most important component of Diablo - enough servers needed to run the game.
The first setback for Blizzard was its inability to offer credits to customers who pre-ordered Diablo 3 through its retailer GAME Australia. GAME said that it will honor all pre-orders for Diablo 3 and Max Payne 3. However, the company said it could not later the week due to financial reasons.
Blizzard then released a statement declaring it would credit customers who had not had their pre-order filled by GAME.
The most recent post from the company explained the various error codes that customers are receiving. However, the company did not clearly stated if these issues when will be resolved.
