“Diablo III” may have been released a while back, but Blizzard is still striving to give players something new to experience consistently. Now, Blizzard is reportedly planning on letting console players experience a feature that is only available to the PC version of the game.

Currently, the Seasons feature is only exclusive to the PC version of the acclaimed RPG, “Diablo III.” However, in a recent interview with IGN, Blizzard senior game producer Rob Foote hints that Seasons could be coming to console versions of the game. Foote stated that consoles are set up to cater to couch co-operative play, while PCs are set up for online play with features like leaderboards and online communities. With this difference, the Seasons feature was limited to only the PC.

Foote stated, "Sometimes Seasons aren’t really about the leaderboard, but having a fresh start, experiencing the game again and feeling like you’re part of a larger community than yourself where the excitement around Diablo is there. So I think maybe that’s something we need to re-evaluate again. We’ll probably go back and revisit that decision."

The Seasons feature lets players create new characters that will be used to play the game in a limited timeframe, this play through is called a season. Seasonal characters can only interact with each other and can gain access to Season-exclusive drops, leaderboards, and achievements. After playing through the season, players can then transfer their seasonal characters into a normal play through to make use of the exclusive weapons and items found in the season.

Inquisitr reports that the fourth season of “Diablo III” begins on August 28 for PC players. Both PC and console players will also receive the 2.3 patch the Tuesday before. However, since the Seasons feature is only exclusive to PC players, all Seasons exclusive items can be obtained by anyone the day the patch launches. PC players will have to play through the current season to get a hold of the new items. They could also opt to wait for the season to end so that the items become obtainable in a regular play through of “Diablo III.”
