The home channel of the hit talent show,'The Voice,' Australia has been forced to defend one of the coaches, Joel Madden, for allegedly being drunk during the live episode last Monday.

These speculations were made over Twitter, including a performer's observation. The development head of Channel Nine, Adrian Swift said in an interview yesterday that Madden was extremely nervous, leading to the Good Charlotte singer slurring some of his words.

Swift assures everyone that Madden was not drunk during the show. He even claims that he was with the rock singer until the time he hit the stage.

The controversial news contributed higher ratings to the episode instead of serving as its downfall. It even marked the highest rating for the channel with around 2.2 million viewers tuned in.
