Former WWE star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is giving Kim Kardashian West a run for her money when it comes to being the top dog of selfie royalty. While Kardashian is well-known as the self-proclaimed “queen of selfies,” The Rock got a Guinness World Record last week to prove that he is the king.

On Thursday last week, Johnson attended the premiere of his new action flick “San Andreas” in London. The event took place a week before the film’s May 29 release date. While starring in a new film is another notch on his growing resume, the wrestler-turned-actor has also added a Guinness World Record and title of “selfie king” to his list of achievements. To make the record, Johnson took 105 selfies with his iPhone within a span of 3 minutes. He did the selfie snapping session while walking the red carpet of his film's London premiere.

Johnson reposted a photo shared by the Guinness Book of World Records which shows him being awarded his official Guinness World Record certification. He thanked all of the fans who took part in the record-breaking attempt. Many of the shots taken included selfies with adoring fans. Fans of the former wrestling star attended the premiere to catch a glimpse of their idol and unexpectedly ended up taking part in his successful world record quest.

While talking to E! News about the achievement, Johnson denies that he will be publishing a book of selfies just like Kim Kardashian. While she is the “queen of selfies,” Johnson takes pride in his record. He says that he is already in the books. Therefore, he feels no need to make a book of his own.

“She can't be king. She's the selfie queen," Johnson concludes. He does not wish to start up a rivalry with the reality star since they can both reign in their separate kingdoms in peace.

Kardashian’s book “Selfish” was released in the first week of May and has already reached the best sellers list just a few days after its release. The book contains thousands of Kardashian’s selfies taken from a span of over a decade.
