Earlier Google Nexus 2015 Phone Release Date Likely As Supposed Base-Model LG G4 Set For April Arrival
The LG G4 release date is set in the last week of April 2015, a new report said, adding that the handset is touted as a game-changer for its maker. Being floated as the base-model for Google’s 2015 signature phone, the development could significantly advance the next Nexus touchdown.
From South Korea, reports emerged that the LG G4 will actually unbox end of April. The device, however, was originally thought of arriving this March. The change in timing, according to The Korea Herald, is to pit the handset directly against Samsung’s upcoming flagships – the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
Game-changing features
LG appears confident that the G4 will give Samsung’s hero phones a good fight. Among the banner features packed with the handset is a curved display touch panel that obviously is LG’s answer to the S6 Edge double-edgy screen.
Analysts are upbeat too on the likelihood that the G4 would propel LG to higher revenue points starting this 2015 and going forward. The upcoming model is expected to surpass the record set by the LG G3, possibly clocking 9.3 million of units sales by the end of 2015. “The G4 will sell 15 million units annually and add to the brand value of LG,” The Korea Herald reported a local analyst as saying.
LG is also aspiring to increase its presence in the Chinese market, starting with the game-changing G4, the report added. Likely part of that thrust is the rumoured partnership between LG and Google that could lead to the LG G4 ending up as the repurposed Nexus 2015 phone, replacing the Motorola-issued Nexus 6.
Specs and feature befitting the Nexus brand
And the specs and features so far associated with the G4 make the device a solid candidate as the next Nexus flagship. Korean reports are indicating that the device is at least a 5-inch phone that fits the 2015 smartphone standard. The G4, according to The Korea Herald, will boast of Quad HD screen but with marked improvements from last year’s version.
It should be noted, however, that another G4 is rumoured to come out later in the year – the 5.6-inch LG G4 Note that reports said is designed to slug it out with Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5. This could sport a more premium build, specifically a metallic casing, which could prod Google to wait out for the device and assign it as the sequel to the Nexus 6.
Should that be the case, the next Nexus phone release date this 2015 will merely mirror the past roll out template used by Google. As the G4 Note is not expected to come out until the last quarter of the year, the next Nexus should follow shortly – just in time for the 2015 holiday period.
