"The Escapists: The Walking Dead" will be released worldwide on Xbox One and PC next week, publisher Team17 has announced.

Prison-breaking sim title “The Escapists” was a hit among gamers since its release in 2014. Team17 announced in July that it would make a crossover game for “The Escapists” that features the characters from the popular comic-book turned TV series “The Walking Dead.”

According to the newly released trailer, “The Walking Dead” spin-off of the game will officially hit consoles and the PC on Sept. 30, IGN reports. The crossover takes the art design, mechanics and systems of “The Escapists” and incorporates it to the world of “The Walking Dead.”

Players will be able to control “The Walking Dead” character Rick Grimes, as he saves his group of survivors through various situations. It is worth noting that these situations are based on the events that occur during the comic book series and not the TV adaptation.

The game will have a total of five stages after its release. These include Harrison Memorial Hospital, Greene Family Farm, Meriwether Correctional Facility, Woodbury and Alexandria--all notable “The Walking Dead” locations. The game will span from the beginning of the comic book series and extend to the current issues of it set in Alexandria.

Like the previous title, one of the main components of the game is its intricate crafting system. In “The Escapists: The Walking Dead,” players will have a chance to craft more than 70 different items using over 250 different materials.

Unlike the original game where players sneak around guards as they try to escape; “The Escapists: The Walking Dead” will require players to defend areas against attacks by zombies or raiders, Game Zone reports. Players can also equip characters with weapon as they go on scavenging missions.

The PC version of “The Escapists: The Walking Dead” will cost players $17.99 (AU $25.67) when it launches on Sept. 30. Its Xbox One counterpart will cost $19.99 ($AU 28.53)
