ESPN SportsCenter Will Broadcast Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Media Event Live On March 11
The press tour for the long-awaited fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao at Nokia Theathre in Los Angeles will reportedly be aired live on ESPN SportsCenter on March 11. It is the only time that Mayweather and Pacquiao will appear together until fight week.
According to a report by FightHype.com, ESPN SportsCenter will broadcast the media event at 4:30 p.m. ET or 1: 30 p.m. PT. SportCenter’s Lindsay Czarniak will anchor the coverage from the network’s studio in Los Angeles. Boxing analyst Teddy Atlas will also be in Los Angeles to provide his insights and analysis about the fight of the century.
Neil Everett and Stan Everett will be on-site to report what is going on from the red carpet. Reporters Jeremy Schaap and Bernardo Osuna will also be going behind-the-scenes at Nokia Theatre and will be tasked to get a few words from Mayweather and Pacquiao during the exclusive media event.
According to ESPN’s Dan Rafael, there will be one more news conference in Las Vegas, which will take place a few days before the May 2 showdown. Rafael said that the organisers felt there was no need stage various media tours in different cities because fans have started hyping for the most talked-about boxing event many years ago.
The super fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao was made official after the undefeated fighter posted a copy of his signed contract on social media platform Shots on Feb. 20. Prior Mayweather’s announcement, Pacquiao has already hinted that the super fight was close to being finalised and said that they were only waiting on Mayweather to sign his part on the contract. Mayweather’s signature was the only thing needed in making the fight of the century come to fruition.
Both fighters are currently on their second week of their respective training camps. Mayweather trains in his gym in Las Vegas with his father, uncle Roger Mayweather and his usual team of entourage. Pacquiao, on the other hand, has started some light training sessions in the Philippines and he is now training at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Gym in Los Angeles.
