The promoters of the long awaited super bout between undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao are keeping the personal encounters between the two prized fighters few and far between. In fact, a single press conference has been agreed upon leading up to the May 2nd slugfest at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Dubbed as an exclusive red carpet event, the Filipino boxer and Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound king will both be present at an undetermined location in Los Angeles on Mar. 11 to promote the fight and meet each other in the flesh since the famed hotel meeting in Miami. Even if the said event is not open to the public, tens of thousands are expected to flock to the venue once it is finalised given the 5-year anticipation for boxing’s next biggest fight since Oscar dela Hoya and Mayweather.

Both fighters are now focused and occupied with their respective training programs with the 37-year-old Pacquiao flying to Los Angeles to begin his workout and conditioning with long-trusted mentor Buboy Fernandez while they await the coming on board of Freddie Roach. Roach is still indisposed because of a prior commitment in Macau. As soon as that match is completed, Roach is expected to join his most bankable ward at the Wild Card Hollywood Boxing Gym in California.

The undefeated American boxer is also not letting up on his conditioning with less than two months before the pay-per-view event. Mayweather has been more conspicuous of the strategy of his team limiting the peeking to the fans to his first day of jousting with the speed bag still he gives updates from time to time through his social media accounts. He even posted a latest picture in his Instagram account while taking some time off to play some craps but despite this he maintains that he is not being complacent and is always on the right path to push for his apex.

"Training camp has gone tremendously thus far, all I can do is just wait. This is not just a big fight, this is the biggest fight in boxing history," he said per Fight Hype. "It is always being at your best, pushing yourself to the limit and just being sharp and smart."
