Eva Longoria Wants To Act, Produce And Direct Like George Clooney
Eva Longoria wants to be the female George Clooney when it comes to her career. The 40-year-old actress said that her career aspirations are similar to Clooney, who acts, produces and directs as well.
The former “Desperate Housewives” star shared that she does want to stop at just being a successful actress. The star of the upcoming NBC series, “Hot and Bothered” told Instyle (via E Online) that she wants to have a career like Clooney because he “directs, produces, and stars.” She is keen on taking on the responsibility of a final product. Longoria is already producing “Devious Maids.”
In the same interview, she revealed that she is currently at a happy place because of her boyfriend, José Antonio Bastón, a businessman. She said her current state makes it easy to be “open and in love.”
The magazine interview showed that Eva Longoria never believed about dreaming small just because she was a Latina. She was recently shocked when Donald Trump allegedly made some racist comments against Mexicans on during his Presidential campaign. The Latina actress told Instyle that it is high time that the Latino people “stand for something” and not just be the “fastest-growing demographic in the United States.”
Earlier, she also responsed to Trump’s remarks at the National Association of Latino Independent Producers Media Summit Luncheon. She said that she knows people were waiting for her to lambast Trump but she refuses to do that because she knows doing so would just “bring more attention” to the original comments. She said she cannot afford for the comments to be given attention because it would spread.
For the actress-producer, the comments are like emotional poison that should not be allowed to spread. She said Trump should not be so surprised his words caused a backlash against him. “You must expect a backlash because it’s struck a chord in our community that touched our emotions so deep, that I don’t want to contribute to that poison being spread. Because if I contribute, then it’s just going to bring more attention to the original comments,” she said, as quoted by Vibe.
