Facebook app for Windows 10 Mobile gets Continuum support
Facebook users on Windows 10 Mobile will get a significant update which includes a fresh design and a new range of features. Users can download the update for Facebook app from the Windows Store .
The latest update with the version number of 10.2.1 will bring in a bagful of new features including improved user experience for bigger screens and interactive notifications. The update will also add support for improved navigation, in-line video playback to improve the over-all video experience of the app.
Moreover, the most significant inclusion is the support for Continuum. This feature will allow users to connect their smartphones with larger monitors or TV and effectively use it via a mouse and keyboard for a PC-like experience. The new Facebook app update also includes inclusion of additional languages, narrator support and improved localisation and navigation quality.
“You’ll be able to travel and leave your laptop at home, knowing you’re still equipped to complete your most common tasks,” says Keri Moran, the Principal Program Manager Lead for Continuum revealed in a blog post.
In a much required market research Moran realised that the smartphone has become the center of social and professional life for many. People generally rely on laptops and tablets as the phone does not have a larger screen and a keyboard and mouse.
The Continuum team realised that people would accept the idea of having a phone that could work like a PC. On Continuum, people can seamlessly multi-task as they can keep using their phones for receiving calls and text messages.
In October 2015, Microsoft pulled out the Facebook app from the App Store soon after the 10.1 version of the app was available to download, reports Windows Central. Finally in December, the company again rolled out the Windows 10 Mobile version of its Facebook app with bug fixes.
