‘Far Cry 4’ DLC, 'Valley Of The Yetis' Gets A Dev Walkthrough Video
Gamers looking for more content out of “Far Cry 4” are in luck, as the French publisher has just released the game’s second major DLC expansion, “Valley of the Yetis.” A new developer walkthrough gives players a glimpse of what lies in store.
The walkthrough, hosted on the official Ubisoft YouTube channel, opens with “Far Cry 4” protagonist Ajay Ghale recovering after a helicopter crash in a new Himalayan region. Quickly gathering his bearings, Ajay realises the pilot has been kidnapped, equips his bow and uses his wingsuit to glide toward an outpost in the valley below.
As noted by VG24/7, once Ajay’s captured the outpost, he can set up camp there and must now prepare to defend his new safe house. To do so, players upgrade the bases defences by completing side quests during the day and defending it from hordes of attacking cultists at night. Each wave of cultists gets stronger and stronger, forcing Ajay to purchase better mods such as minefields, fire traps, mounted machine guns and more.
Unlike the main “Far Cry” campaign, all missions and side quests in “Valley of the Yetis” can be played cooperatively. Gamers can team up with a buddy to uncover the legendary secrets hidden by the valley’s cultish inhabitants and eventually face off against terrifying yetis.
Game Informer rated “Valley of the Yetis” an 8.5/10, stating that it was the best “Far Cry 4 expansion thus far. The outlet also likened the game to fan-favourite “Far Cry 3” expansion, “Blood Dragon,” but noted that it didn’t go quite as far as “Blood Dragon” did to reevaluate the base game’s core mechanics and aesthetics.
As previously reported, “Valley of the Yetis” follows the first DLC pack released for “Far Cry 4,” “Escape from Durgesh Prison.” The new DLC expansion is included in the “Far Cry 4” season pass and can also be purchased separately. “Far Cry 4: Valley of the Yetis” is available on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
