There’s a new reason to continue playing “Far Cry 4,” and it comes in the form of a new DLC. The add-on, titled Overrun, is bringing in a new PvP mode, four new maps and a vehicle to explore the depths of Kyrat.

Ubisoft announced the expansion in the official “Far Cry” website, stating that it is already up for download on the PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. If you’re playing “Far Cry 4” on the PC, expect it to be available on Feb. 12.

Interestingly, the idea for the “Overrun” DLC was conceptualized in the oddest of places: a moving elevator. In the latest developer diary, the team behind the expansion discussed how they came up with the new content.

Overrun will see the Rakshasa and Golden Path are fighting and trying to take territories. Zones will appear in one the three areas of the map, which will be the battleground for the teams. Whoever has occupied the zone for the longest amount of time will be declared the winner.

“The cool part about this is that it shoves both teams together in an area but doesn’t give them something specific to do, so you get a lot of really fun ‘Far Cry’ play. And you get people being able to do whatever they want in a certain area,” said game designer Matte Wagner in the video seen below.

Overrun will feature the new PvP mode of the same title, which features three locations where factions can compete and aim to take over. It will be played out in two rounds, with scores totaled at the end to proclaim the winner. The “Far Cry 4” DLC will also include four new maps and the dune buggy, a vehicle that the team was not able to include at launch.

It will be available for free if you have the “Far Cry 4” season pass, or purchases separately if you haven’t. There is still one more expansion already mentioned by the publisher, which is the Valley of the Yetis, though details have not yet been released.

Ubisoft’s adventure title has recently swiped a few nominations at the BAFTA Games Awards 2015, making it one of the leading games in terms of nominations received. VG 24/7 shows off the full list of nominees, but for “Far Cry 4,” the nominations are in the areas of Game Design, Artistic Achievement, Story, Performer and Music.

Its contender across all of the nominated categories are equally strong games. In Game Design, it is up against the likes of “Destiny,” “Alien: Isolation,” “Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor,” “Hearthstone” and “Threes.” For the story category, it will be butting heads against “80 Days,” “Broken Age,” “The Last of Us: Left Behind,” “Never Alone” and “The Wolf Among Us.”

Troy Baker, who voices “Far Cry 4” villain-in-the-pink Pagan Min, has been nominated alongside Kevin Spacey for fellow villain Jonathan Irons of “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare” and leads Melissa Hutchison (Clementine of “The Walking Dead: Season 2”) and Adam Harrington (Bigby Wolf of “The Wolf Among Us”). The decision of which game will win which award is set for Mar. 12.
