Looks like Ian Somerhalder of the "Vampire Diaries" is constantly winning web polls for the role of Christian Grey in the highly-anticipated film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey." The big question now is who would play opposite Ian as Anastasia Steele? Well, it looks like fans of "Fifty" have found the perfect match in "Girls" star, Allison Williams.

Fans of E.L. James' kinky novels turned film are excited for the announcement of an official cast. However, casting may take a while as announced by Universal Studios and Focus Features given a director is yet to be found. For one, the script is still under works by scriptwriter, Kelly Marcel.

So what do fans have left to do until the premiere of "Fifty Shades" by summer of 2014? Of course, come up with lists of potential stars that could play the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Currently leading in the top for the role of Grey is "Vampire Diaries" Ian Somerhalder. Following close to the Salvatore brother is Henry Cavill of "Man of Steel" and Matt Bomer of "White Collar."

With Ian getting all the attention and the favourites for the role of Grey, fans are now left with deciding who could play opposite him as Anastasia Steele. "Vampire Diaries" fans have greatly considered Ian's on and off screen beau, Nina Dobrev for the role. Yet, Nina was the first to say no to the role of Ana. Why so?

"I don't know if that's a good idea. I think it's best for any of the actors on Vampire Diaries to kind of do their own things ... and create new characters. And as much as you try when you shoot a movie, if it's two of the same people, the fans will always see you as ... they'll see you as Elena and they'll see him as Damon if we do the film together," explained Nina Dobrev in an interview back in 2012.

Given Nina Dobrev is out of the picture, who would best replace her as Ana? Obviously, "Fifty Shades" fans have got that covered and the latest brunette to be paired with Ian as Anastasia Steele is none other than "Girls" star, Allison Williams. Williams had expressed interest in the role but she'd never once consider it given the racy scenes involved.

"Right now, I don't see myself ever doing nude scenes. Once you do them, you can't take it back because of the way Google Images works. I also think that unfortunately nudity seems to overshadow some of the more brilliant things that are going on," explained Williams.

Still, this doesn't stop the fact that Allison is somehow a perfect match for Ian Somerhalder in the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey." Check out the slideshow to see more of this new pairing.
