Addictive readers of "Fifty Shades of Grey" have once again found a potential star that could play the lead role of Anastasia Steele in the much anticipated film adaptation. Who would this lovely star be? Say hello to Katie Cassidy, another actress deemed suitable to play the role of 22-year old virginal college student, Ana.

Fans of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel are patiently waiting for the announcement of a cast for the summer 2014 debut of the film. Unfortunately, it'll take a while for fans to see results for casting because news is Universal Studios and Focus Features are busy searching for a suitable director.

Of course, this hasn't hindered fans from naming potential stars that could be in the film. As of late, the favourites for the role of Christian Grey include "Vampire Diaries" star, Ian Somerhalder, Henry Cavill of "Man of Steel" and Matt Bomer of "White Collar." Other notable names include Stephen Amell of "Arrow", Jessie Pavelka and Matt Damon.

On the other hand, Emilia Clarke of "Game of Thrones" and Alexis Bledel of "Gilmore Girls" are reigning favourites for the role of Anastasia Steele. However, even with strong contenders such as Emilia and Alexis on the list, a few fans continue to suggest other plausible stars.

In fact, last years' favourite, Katie Cassidy has once again been thrown into the mix. David Cassidy's famous daughter is up for the role of the 22-year old virginal college student. A lot of readers of the BDSM-themed novel think Katie has just the right looks to play the part of Ana. As for Katie, what does she have to say about the S&M role?

"I've read the book, it's great and it would be unbelievable to play her (Ana)... even if it is a little risqué... I don't think the film would offend as many people as maybe the book has," explained Cassidy in an interview with the Daily Mail.
