Casting for the film adaptation, "Fifty Shades of Grey", is still way off schedule. However, fans of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel refuse to let such news dampen their frenzy over the film set for release on summer of 2014. Numerous actors and actresses have been named to star in the film of which include British actress Kaya Scodelario.

Universal Studios and Focus Features are officially in charge for the production of "Fifty Shades of Grey." Yet, the task seems to be difficult given up until now a suitable director has still not been found. As for the script, scriptwriter Kelly Marcel is currently working on it. For one, this would clearly indicate that the casting won't be in a few months or so.

Of course, leave it to fans of the BDSM-themed novels to search for potential celebrities that could star in the film. As of late, more than a fifty stars have been named on countless lists as possible stars for Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

For the role of Christian Grey, the constant fan favourite goes to "The Vampire Diaries" star, Ian Somerhalder. Other favourites include Henry Cavill of "Man of Steel", Matt Bomer of "White Collar", Stephen Amell of "Arrow" and Jessie Pavelka.

For the role of Anastasia Steele, battling for the number one spot is Emilia Clarke of "Game of Thrones" and Alexis Bledel of "Gilmore Girls." Other favourites for the role include Felicity Jones, Emma Watson, Allison Williams and Nina Dobrev.

Judging from the amount of British women mentioned in the favourites, fans clearly agree that a British woman would perfectly portray the all-American character of Anastasia Steele. Apart from Emilia, Emma and Felicity who are British, another favourite from the UK for the role is Kaya Scodelario.

The "Skins" UK star has been widely hyped to play the role of Steele however she might be out of the running given nude scenes aren't her forte. In an interview with Evening Standard, Scodelario admitted that she's "nowhere near confident enough" plus her mother is a factor that she's steer clear of nudity.

"I'm not comfortable doing nudity. That's something quite personal," stated Kaya, adding, "My mum's always asked me not to do it and I respect her... Considering what the [Fifty Shades] film is about, I wouldn't be able to [play Anastasia]."
