With the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie set to hit theatres by summer of 2014, casting rumours have sprouted here and there on the web. Fans of E.L. James best-selling novel are certainly getting tired of the rumours. Yet, that isn't stopping them from wanting an official cast to be announced. Given all the names mentioned on the web, which among these Hollywood stars are in the top ten to play Christian Grey?

Obviously, a consistent fan favourite for the role of Christian Grey falls in the favour of "Vampire Diaries" star, Ian Somerhalder. The 34-year old actor has constantly been voted as the suitable BDSM-enthusiast, Mr Grey. In fact, E.L. James may not have clearly stated it on Twitter but Ian is also her favourite given she re-tweeted a graphic of him on the social networking site. As for Somerhalder, what does Ian have to say about the esteemed role?

"There are so many young boys in Hollywood up for this role," stated Somerhalder in an episode of "Watch What Happens Live", adding, "I think they have a very big job ahead of them casting this role. I can't say anything other than it's a very interesting story, and whoever plays that role is going to have a lot of fun [come] rehearsal time."

Another notable name making it into the top ten is "Man of Steel" lead, Henry Cavill. Cavill was initially thrown into the mix all because of his iconic grey tie which the "Tudors" star had always managed to wear during photo calls.
