Fight For The DC Multiverse As ‘Infinite Crisis’ Launches This Month
Ever since DC Comics released “The Flash of Two Worlds,” the possibilities of what could happen in the multiverse have been endless. Various concepts from the “Elseworlds” branch of DC Comics have included a Russian raised Superman, a vampire Batman, a Kung-Fu Green Lantern and many more. Soon comic fans will be able to put all of these alternate versions together in the upcoming MOBA game “Infinite Crisis.”
Named after the best selling comic series from Geoff Johns and a variety of artists, “Infinite Crisis” is an upcoming Massive Online Battle Arena game, or a MOBA game, from Warner Brothers. The game was announced two years ago and entered various phases of open and closed Beta testing, before the game’s Steam page came up and revealed that it would be coming out on March 26.
Like most games in the MOBA genre, players can choose a designated champion and lead a squad of heroes to take down the other players in the game. In the case of “Infinite Crisis,” players can choose from a huge and varied roster of DC characters that span the multiverse.
While the official date is March 26, players are encouraged to go to the “Infinite Crisis” site and try out the game right now. The “Infinite Crisis” MOBA is currently in open beta testing and fans can earn six legends from DC Comics after clearing all the tutorial missions.
The game has been heavily hyped by both Warner Bros. and DC Comics, to the point that an “Infinite Crisis” tie-in comic was made, similarly to “Injustice: Gods Among Us” and “Mortal Kombat X.” As to not confuse readers who’ve read the previous “Infinite Crisis” series back in 2005, the tie-in comic is called “Infinite Crisis: Fight for the Multiverse” and is written by “Guardians of the Galaxy” veteran Dan Abnett.
Coincidentally, the characters of DC Comics will also be going through their own woes in the multiverse as the comic event “Convergence” hits stands in April. The event will comprise of an eight issue mini series and a large number of two part tie-ins that involve all sorts of multiverse shenanigans. Fans interested in that can check out the solicitations in Newsarama.
