It’s official: “Destiny: The Taken King” comes out next week on Sept. 15. To celebrate the occasion, Bungie has decided to unveil one last trailer for the highly anticipated expansion pack. The trailer can be seen below and has a very cinematic feel to it; some could almost mistake it for a mature animated film.

The trailer gives “Destiny” fans their first look at Oryx, a wicked-looking alien who plans to take over the world. The character seems like a huge threat to the world, as he comes with an army at his disposal. The space fights seen in the trailer are quite epic and almost rival “Star Wars” in terms of scale and presentation.

While “The Taken King” is technically an expansion pack, Forbes says that it feels more like a pseudo-sequel to the original game. “The Taken King” doesn’t just add new levels and enemies after all; it will also wrap up any lingering storylines from the game’s first year and add some interesting new gameplay features to the mix.

A number of these new game features will come to “Destiny” early, as Bungie has released the game’s 2.0 patch. This patch was made to get fans ready for the expansion and help them reach the highest level possible so that they can take on Oryx and his forces.

The Character Level Cap has been increased from 30 to 34, which should give gamers enough of an advantage to start quests in “The Taken King.” A report from GameSpot has also confirmed that players will be able to level up through XP points alone, which should help them reach level 34 faster.

Other new improvements that come from the patch include: 16 bounty slots, the ability to redo abandoned quests in the Hall of Guardians and unified armour material that can be used by any character class. If there’s anything negative about the patch, it’s that all the Year One bounties will be retired to get players ready for “The Taken King.” It is best that players finish them before downloading the update.

“Destiny: The Taken King” will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Fans who are new to the series can purchase the “Legendary Edition” of “The Taken King,” which will come with the main “Destiny” game and the previous expansion packs.
