First 'Fallout 4' update hits PlayStation 4; general improvements made with patch
Last week, Bethesda released the first patch for “Fallout 4” for the PC as a beta-patch. The test went off without a glitch, although some players report that the update is harmful to any mods installed in “Fallout 4.” This time, the update is officially launching for consoles, and the full patch notes have been revealed.
While Bethesda has officially launched the first update for “Fallout 4,” Xbox One players may have to wait for a while as the patch is only currently available for the PlayStation 4, Polygon reports. The patch focuses on several bug fixes and stability enhancements.
The patch will fix an issue within the Reunions quest wherein the currently equipped weapons become locked. Some players also reported that When Freedom Calls quest cannot be completed, but the patch is said to fix the issue as well. Also included in the quest-specific fixes is for the Confidence Man quest, wherein the players' health would gradually regenerate.
The update is also geared toward adjusting general memory and stability improvements. With “Fallout 4” being such a massive game, there are some rendered areas in which the title could perform poorly. One of these is the Corvega Assembly Plant, which will be fixed and optimised with the update.
As for game-breaking bugs, the update will also fix two issues. First is the issue wherein players get stuck after interacting with terminals. Another fix is for the issue wherein the game crashes after the player jumps into the water or when he or she reloads saved games.
Bethesda has not announced when the update will hit the Xbox One, but it’s likely that it could be revealed soon. The PC patch of “Fallout 4” also had some console-specific issues, Gamespot reports.
