Celina Aarons of Florida got the shock of her life when she received a $201,005.44 phone bill from T-Mobile. Her average phone bill is only $175.

Her usual phone bill includes the smartphone units of her two brothers who are deaf and mute and use their units mainly for texting and downloading. They went to Canada for a two-week vacation and forgot to turn off the data roaming.

While in Canada, the two sent more than 2,000 texts and downloaded videos which incurred up to $2,000 data charges because of a lack of international plan for Ms Aarons account.

"I was freaking out. I was shaking, crying, I couldn't even talk that much on the phone. I was like my life is over," WSVN television quoted Ms Aarons.

T-Mobile, however, wrote down her charges to just 1.2 per cent of the bill.

"The case of Ms Aarons was extraordinary, even if the amount was correct. T-Mobile cut her bill to $2,500 and gave her six month to pay," a T-Mobile spokeswoman said.
