Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 Rumours: Comes with 16 MP Cameras Along With Other 2014 Flagship Smartphones

The next flagship smartphones of Samsung coming this 2014 - now called the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 - are likely to feature a 16MP sensor camera with OIS or optical image stabilisation technology according to a report made by the ET News.

The Korean publication said, that Samsung ordered a total of 181 million OIS 16MP modules. However, despite the report not mentioning the company that will supply the display components of the smartphones, another report from ET News stated that, the Samsung LSI division and Sony were competing to be picked as the supplier of the enhanced camera module for Samsung's next flagship device.

Currently, Sony is the company of choice particularly for camera sensors. In fact, Sony's camera sensor can be seen in various high-end smartphones in the market today, like the LG G2, iPhone 5s, Note 3, Nexus 5 and the Galaxy S4. Therefore, we might see the same camera sensors on other high end devices as well. On the other hand, Samsung LSI unveiled the ISOCELL mobile camera technology which is the advanced-pixel tech for CMOS image sensors. This new technology can turn Samsung's decision in favour of Samsung LSI according to Phone Arena.

Other reports also suggest that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 could include a 64bit Exynos processor, 4GB of RAM, 16MP camera with OIS technology, fingerprint scanner and a metal chassis. Same reports also said that the Galaxy S5 might hit the shelves in February 2014.

As reported by SamMobile, every Galaxy S device featured the same camera as the Galaxy Note device, as such, if we can see a 16MP sensor camera on the Galaxy S5 it is very like to see the same sensor camera with the Galaxy Note 4.

Meanwhile, the Korean tech giant is also rumoured to sell around 360 million smartphones in 2014 and out of the 360 million, 126 million devices are "highly priced" smartphones. Although the figures seem big, that is actually the smallest predicted yearly improvement of the company in its smartphones. Samsung is likely to focus on low-end devices and tablets in 2014.
