The Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge are equipped with 2,550 mAh and 2,600 mAh non-removable batteries. The benchmark reports of both the batteries have been revealed by Phone Arena.

The Galaxy S6 comes fitted with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED screen with support for 1440 x 2560 pixels. Even though the thickness of the device is 6.8 mm, manufacturers at Samsung have included a huge capacity battery in the device.

Galaxy S6 Battery Life Test

The battery life test that simulates the daily usage by a typical person was conducted on both the Galaxy S6 models by Phone Arena. The battery performance of Galaxy S6 shows that it can last for 7 hours of 14 minutes. It also states that it takes 78 minutes to completely charge the battery from scratch.

The predecessor handset, the Galaxy S5 with a larger battery of 2,800 mAh capacity can last longer than what Galaxy S6 can deliver by producing 7 hours and 38 minutes of performance. However, one should be aware of the fact that the Galaxy S5’s 5.1-inch screen supports full HD resolution and the huge battery is packed inside the chassis that measure 8.1 mm in thickness.

Galaxy S6 Edge Battery Life Test

As far as the battery performance of the Galaxy S6 Edge that also supports Quad HD resolution on its 5.1-inch dual-edge curved Super AMOLED screen, it was able to last for 8 hours and 11 minutes reveals the battery life test conducted by Phone Arena

Also, it takes 83 minutes for the battery to get completely charged to the full from zero. Phone Arena further stated that in most of its battery life tests, it sets the brightness of the device to 200 nits but for Galaxy S6 Edge, it was set to 180 nits as the highest brightness manual setting available.

How does the battery performance of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 stack up against other flagships? The battery life tests on various smartphones by Phone Arena show that the Sony Xperia Z3 is leading the pack with 9 hours and 29 minutes.

The second best performance is produced by Galaxy Note 4 with 8 hours and 43 minutes followed by the Galaxy S6 Edge, the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy S6. Trailing behind the Galaxy S6 is the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, the HTC One M9 and the LG G3 and the iPhone 6.
