‘General Hospital’ Casting Spoilers: Genie Francis Is Coming Back To GH As Laura Spencer
Genie Francis is set to make a comeback and be a part of the “General Hospital” family. Executive Producer of the show Frank Valentini announced the news.
Valentini took Twitter to share the news about Genie Francis’ return with the fans of the show. Genie is known for portraying the wife of Luke on “General Hospital.”
According to TVLine, Genie is coming back “in a few weeks” on “General Hospital.” The show has not yet shared any details about her character or why Laura is returning.
“Genie is a part of our GH family and the door has always been open for her to return when the timing and story are right,” Valentini stated.
“Lucky for us, the stars have aligned and we are thrilled to welcome Genie back home,” the Executive Producer added.
Back in 1976, Genie Francis appeared as Laura and in 1981 she married Luke which turned out to be a grand event for TV. She parted ways with “General Hospital” in 1984. In 2007, she bagged the Daytime Emmy Award for portraying Laura.
Meanwhile, in Daytime Emmy Awards 2015, “General Hospital” won some big awards. Anthony Geary won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series Award for playing Luke Spencer. Also, Maura West, who plays Ava Jerome, took home the Outstanding Leading Actress in a Drama Series Award. Chad Duell, who portrays Michael Corinthos, bagged the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Award. Donna Mills won her first Daytime Emmy for playing Madeline Reeves, she took the Outstanding Special Guest Performer Award. The Outstanding Drama Series Award was a tie between “Day of Our Lives” and “The Young and the Restless.”
