Ghost Rider haunts 'Marvel Puzzle Quest' this month with new story event
Johnny Blaze is coming to “Marvel Puzzle Quest” with a flaming skull and a hellish motorcycle. Mostly known as Ghost Rider, the character will be part of an upcoming story event called “Heart of Darkness,” which was adopted from a comic storyline in the late 1990s, according to a press release from D3 Go!
The “Heart of Darkness” event has the soul-collecting biker teaming up with three unlikely allies: Wolverine, Punisher and Daredevil. The fearsome foursome are literally going to Hell as they plan on stopping The Hood from whatever plan he’s cooked up.
Despite two films that didn’t go well, Ghost Rider is still one of the more popular characters in Marvel comics. Fans will be happy to know that his trademark Penance Stare will be in the game, according to Pocket Gamer. Considering what it does to his foes in the comics, this should be a very devastating manoeuvre.
During a Marvel interview with the developer, it was also revealed that “Ghost Rider” would be a four-star character, making him a force to be reckoned with. While he might not be as strong as Silver Surfer or Phoenix, the rider should still be a vital member for anyone’s party.
It’s interesting to note that this is the Johnny Blaze version of Ghost Rider coming to the game and not the newest incarnation of Robbie Reyes. Unlike the original rider who used a motorcycle, Reyes used a demonic and sleek-looking race car to hunt down his enemies.
Reyes could still be coming to the game in the future, as new heroes are always constantly appearing in “Marvel Puzzle Quest.” The game has already been a platform for newer characters like Kamala Khan and Amadeus Cho, whose superhero aliases are Ms. Marvel and the Totally Awesome Hulk, respectively.
“Heart of Darkness” begins later this month on Nov. 26. Fans better start levelling up their heroes for the event and maybe stock up on iso-8 to get the Ghost Rider.
“Marvel Puzzle Quest” is available now as a free-to-play mobile title on iOS and Android. A paid version of the game will be coming to consoles soon.
