Just when Android fans thought that the Nexus 2015 on release date is mostly about the LG G4, hardware-wise, Huawei of China re-entered the picture and made itself available as the next Nexus builder. So who between the two device makers will assemble the better pure Android phone?

News came out next week that Huawei is again being considered as Google’s partner in manufacturing the Nexus 2015 flagship, according to Gizmo China. The report merely resurrected the earlier speculation that the Internet search giant was shopping around for a Chinese brand that will play a crucial role on its upcoming Nexus project. Huawei was mentioned but quickly faded out of the discussion when the LG G4 emerged as the better candidate.

That possibility, however, re-emerged as a Chinese analyst offered bits of preview of the Nexus 2015 specs and features – that is if the device will originate from China and not from South Korea. Now it should be interesting which between LG and Huawei will unbox the better Nexus considering the available details so far.

Display

Patterned after the LG G4, the next Nexus will sport a 5.5-inch display profile that makes use of an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. LG packed the device with Quad HD tech screen technology, emphasising its incredible 2K display resolution with pixel density of 538 pixels per inch. Early reviewers praised LG for its superb engineering on this respect, which Google will surely extend to the Nexus 2015.

But Huawei is not to be outmuscled easily as Gizmo China reported that the company will match the 2K display found on the G4. As can be expected, the Chinese aims to outgun LG by stretching the likely Nexus 2015 device screen to 5.7-inch, also with 2K display resolution (2560 x 1440 to be exact).

There is one display weapon, however, that the Huawei version will brandish, which could prove as key advantage over that of the LG G4 – OLED panel from Samsung. If this turns out to be real, the Huawei Nexus can easily outperform any of the iPhone 6 or Galaxy S6 and the LG G4 for that matter, at least on paper.

Snapdragon 810 chip

The LG G4 was rumoured to be powered originally by the Snapdragon 810 but the device hit the market with the 808 instead. If the Huawei Nexus build will come out, the main engine for the device is the 810 if the Gizmo China report is to be believed.

Now the gadget may pack more steam than the 808-powered LG G4 but two things are to be worried about. First is overheating, which could be the reason the 810 was skipped by LG for its first 2015 flagship. Another cause for concern is battery longevity. True the 810 is more powerful but will surely use up higher amounts of battery juice.

In the end, the Google Nexus 2015 will have its pros and cons whether it will be based on the LG G4 or Huawei will end up putting together native Android flagship phone. All the questions about the device should be put to rest on its release date, likely happening between October and November 2015.
