Google Nexus 7 is hailed as the best tablet in the 7-inches category boasting powerful specs and low cost compared to other brands. But Hewlett-Packard launched the HP Slate 7 to compete the Nexus 7, having an even lower price of $169 per unit only.

Google Nexus 7 is available on Google Play which costs $249 for the 32GB variant and $199 for the 16GB. HP Slate 7 attempts to battle with the Nexus tablet using low-cost on consumers for only $169 per unit.

HP Slate 7 comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 7-inch of display screen, 1024x600 resolution, 1.6GHz dual-core ARM A9 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 3MP rear camera, VGA front camera, microSD card slot and Beats Audio system.

Google Nexus 7 have similar technical specifications with the HP Slate 7, however, the opponent has the advantage over microSD card expansion and built-in Beats Audio system which is commonly seen on HTC smartphones.

Other than that, HP Slate 7 beats the 1.2MP camera, lack of front-shooting camera and shortage of memory due to zero support for expansion of the Nexus 7. Even so, consumers may find Google Nexus 7 hard to let go when considering the better sets of processor of Nvidia Tegra 3, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and higher display resolution of 1280x800.
