The new Google Nexus 7 made its debut at the first day of the Google I/O Developers' Conference. It will battle head on with other 7-inch, Android-supported tablets, Amazon Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.

ASUS manufactured Nexus 7 is the new device introduced by Google along with latest version of Android OS - Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Aside from incredible specs and features and powerful Android OS, the Nexus 7 also comes with a friendly price tag. The device is now available for pre-order in the US, Canada, U.K. and Australia and is exclusively available at the Google Play Store.

Last year, Amazon introduced its Kindle Fire that took the tablet market by storm. The Kindle Fire was the first tablet priced $199 that consumers found cheaper still useful. Samsung, on the other hand, released their revised version of their 7-inch tablet.

Below is the detailed comparison of the three devices that will help readers decide on which gadget they will gain great benefit:

Operating System

The Nexus 7 is way ahead with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is equipped with Android Ice Cream Sandwich. While the Kindle Fire trails behind with Android 2.3 .4 Gingerbread.

PPI

Google Nexus 7 boasts its 1280x800 ppi compared to Galaxy Tab and Kindle Fire's 1024x600 ppi.

Processor

Google Nexus 7 triumphed with Quad-core 1.3 GHz Nvidia. Amazon Kindle Fire sports Dual-core 1GHz TI OMAP4 which is the same with Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 that is equipped with Dual-core 1GHz processor.

Storage

The Nexus 7 comes with 8GB and 16GB internal storage. The Amazon Kindle Fire only comes with 8GB version. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 comes with 8GB internal storage as well as external microSD slot. Thus, storage can be expanded up to 32GB.

Camera

The Nexus 7 will also feature a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, which should be useful for video chats. However, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 won with cameras both on rear and front. The device is equipped with 3-megapixel camera and VGA front camera for video calls. Amazon Kindle trailed behind again with no camera.

Price

One of the advantages of 7-inch tablets is they are more affordable compared to 10-inch tablets like Apple's iPad. Google Nexus 7 is priced $199 for 8GB and $249 for 16GB. Amazon Kindle Fire costs $199 for 8GB tablet. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0's price is pretty steep compared to the other two with $249 for 8GB.

It looks like the Nexus 7 is ahead compared to other tablets with its jampacked new features and the latest OS that promised to be the fastest and smoothest Android yet.
