Google Pixel C vs. Apple iPad Pro: compare specs, features, price and availability

The Google Pixel C is a powerful tablet that can function as a laptop by connecting a Bluetooth keyboard. It competes against the likes of the Apple iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro 4.
The Apple iPad Pro launched in September 2014 has met with good reception from the customers and critics. The specifications, features, price and availability of the Google Pixel C has been compared to that of the Apple iPad Pro:
Design and Display
The metal-clad Google Pixel C is equipped with stereo speakers. The tablet can be used with a Bluetooth keyboard, as well as without it. The Apple iPad Pro appears like a large-sized iPad and is fitted with four stereo speakers. It comes with additional accessories like a Smart Keyboard and the Apple Pencil stylus.
The Google Pixel C has a 10.2-inch screen that supports a resolution of 2560 x 1800 pixels. The iPad Pro comes with a larger display of 12.9-inch and carries support for 2732 x 2048 pixels.
Chipset, Storage and RAM
The Nvidia Tegra X1 chipset that houses a 64-bit quad-core processor powers the Google Pixel C along with 3 GB of RAM. It’s available in inbuilt storage variants like 32 GB and 64 GB.
The Apple iPad Pro is powered by the Apple A9X chipset supported by 4 GB of RAM. It’s available in two storage variants: 32 GB and 128 GB.
Camera, Software and Battery
Both devices have an 8 MP rear camera. The front-facing camera of the Google Pixel C is a 2 MP whereas the one present on the iPad Pro is a 1.2 MP.
The Google Pixel C comes preinstalled with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. For connectivity, the Pixel C offers users options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB Type-C. The iPad Pro runs on the latest version of iOS 9 operating system.
The Pixel C is packed with a 34.2 Wh battery whereas the one inside the iPad Pro is a 38.5 Wh. Both tablets can last for around 10 to 12 hours with normal use, Android PIT reported.
Price and Availability
The Google Pixel C with 32 GB storage costs AU$699 while the 64 GB mode costs AU$899. On the other hand, the Apple iPad Pro costs AU$1,249 for the 32 GB Wi-Fi only model. The 128 GB Wi-Fi model costs AU$1,499 whereas the 128 GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model is priced at AU$1,699.
