Google releases a list of the best apps and games from its Play Store in its year-end round-up. It’s a perfect way to check if you’ve got the best apps in your kitty. Along with universal apps, Google has added region specific apps with a “Make in” tag.

Thus, depending on his location, a user might find a vast list of apps and games. The globally recommended best apps of 2015 include Skype, Google Photos, Twitter, Twitch. Apps under “Make in” tags will differ, however.

It’s worth mentioning Google has clubbed the apps in certain popular categories such as tablets and family, photography, communication and social, tools and productivity and entertainment.

In the games front, Google included a mixed bag of Zigzag, Criminal Case, Clash of Clans, King of Thieves, Angry Birds 2, Ski Safari 2, Brain Dots Alphabear, Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft and Fallout Shelter. Even newcomer Prune is in the list of best games of 2015.

It seems Google generated the list on the basis of the apps' popularity, according to a report in Android Police. The number of downloads and ratings played a major role in the selection of apps in each category. Each app gets differing popularity in different countries depending on its popularity. The list of the best in 2015 list also incorporates Newsstand, Books and Movies.

In the meantime, Google also allowed spilt-payments for all Android users. This means users can utilise a different method of payment if they fall short of their Play Store credit. All users are yet to get the update, however. Google generally rolls out updates in a staggered manner. All the content on Play Store will soon support this new feature, reports Tech Times.
