Quickly following the news of the official GTA 5 being leaked and officially confirmed by Rockstar Games, more details have been revealed, this time concerning GTA Online, the multiplayer mode for the Grand Theft Auto 5.

In a recent interview that VG 24/7 reported on, Leslie Benzies, Rockstar North president, revealed more details about the upcoming game.

"We've always wanted to create a world with the complexity of a single-player Grand Theft Auto game with the addition of real players," said Benzies in an interview quoted by VG 24/7. "We wanted a world where people could spend years without getting bored of playing the same content over and over."

Starting with GTA Online, you can expect more than 500 missions in-game, with both solo and team missions available. GTA Online is also what you can consider to be a continuation of GTA 5 because the events taking place there follow what took place in the former game.

It is a freer world, in the sense that you can resort to anything to obtain money. Just like the recently established crew rank over at Rockstar Games' Social Club, you also have a ranking system for crew and personal rank for GTA Online, and the rank is reflective on your character's lifestyle and portion in mission rewards.

"The only limitation is the size of the disc and how much memory we've got," sid Benzies to CVG.

It seems that the reason why GTA 5 has become a very massive project is due to the fact that the developers have already been hard at work with the game since GTA 3 was in the drawing board.

Character customisation goes back to basics in GTA Online

Earlier reports of character customisation for GTA Online has pointed to a unique system, wherein you will have to choose the family that will then affect your character's looks and attitudes.

"You then spend time choosing your lifestyle, making choices about the kind of things your character spends time doing, whether they spend more time partying or sitting on the couch or doing criminal activities than sleeping and being athletic--and your character is complete," said Benzies in an interview quoted by Videogamer.

This means that all the actions and choices that you make and take will also have an effect on your character. Just like in real life, where even a person who has the best genes but I a total couch potato will never truly be as fit as someone who keeps moving and improving his capabilities.

And since it is based on real-life creation of people, it seems like a more natural way to have your own character, putting another spin on the upcoming GTA 5 world.

A closer look at the official soundtrack

Besides a bigger world and a more realistic approach to creating and customising your characters, Rockstar Games has also provided a deeper look for the official soundtrack of the game following a number of fan requests.

On the Rockstar Games newswire, one of the songs featured in the track and also in the debut trailer is Sleepwalking, from The Chain Gang of 1974, an electronic band.

Overall, the soundtrack has 15 music stations, two stations for talk radio, and 240 licensed songs. In the game, you can enjoy more than 20 hours of the original score from Tangerine Dream and Woody Jackson, as well as Alchemist and Oh No.
