'Guardians of Galaxy 2': Thanos' Daughters And Yondu To Get Expanded Roles, Says James Gunn
James Gunn is busy working on the script of “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.” In a recent interview, the director said that he always knew what the story for the next movie was going to be. He also said that the viewers will get to know more about Thanos’ daughters and Yondu in the upcoming movie.
At the premiere of “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” James Gunn was asked a few questions about his movie. He spoke to MTV and a video of the interaction has been posted on the official YouTube channel of MTV. The director was asked about his inputs for the Joss Whedon film and also about his next movie.
James Gunn is apparently in the “screenplay phase” of development of “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.” The director explained that in the first movie he had some limitation because he had to introduce all the characters, but the next movie will allow the director to “play and have a good time and have fun” with all the characters.
The next movie is set to explore some of the characters a “little bit deeper,” according to the director. The three characters who the fans will “get to know a little bit more” in the next movie are Gamora, Nebula and Yondu.
Readers should note that Gamora and Nebula are the daughters of the Mad Titan Thanos. Speaking to Vulture at the premiere, James Gunn said that “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” will be a story about “fathers.” The previous movie did not reveal who Peter Quill’s father really was.
The director did not reveal whether Peter Quill will finally get to meet his father in the next movie or whether the audience will at least get to see or know more about the character. He said that he was “excited” about Peter Quill’s character and where the character is headed in the storyline.
“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” is slated to be released in 2017. Apart from the identity of Peter Quill’s father, the other interesting aspect that the fans are excited to learn more about is how James Gunn plans to bring back Groot. The director has also not given any indication about who the villain will be in the next movie and if Thanos will have a cameo appearance.
