Developer 343 Industries recently released an update for the hit Xbox One exclusive “Halo 5: Guardians.” Launched last month, “Halo 5: Guardians” has received high praise, most particularly for its multiplayer mode. The new update looks to impress the game’s players even more.

The update includes a lot of new content for the competitive team-based shooter, but perhaps its highlight is the resurrection of the multiplayer game mode, Big Team Battle, IGN reports. When players update their “Halo 5: Guardians” software with the patch dubbed “The Battle of Shadow and Light,” they will be able to go head-to-head in the game mode and access four new maps.

Big Team Battle, as the name suggests, is a showdown between two teams with several members. In this mode, eight players will battle in an all-out war for supremacy. They could even try out the mode in four new maps, namely, Deadlock, Basin, Guillotine and Recurve.

Aside from the already impressive set of additions, there will be more REQ packs for players to collect once they’ve downloaded the update. There will be a total of 48 new REQ packs.

The REQ packs will include several new armour options, weapons, vehicles and assassinations. All of the items have varying rarity, and even Legendary equipment abound in the new REQ packs.

The update was released after 343 Industries began to take action against cheaters in the online shooter. On Halo Waypoint, the developer noted that it will begin imposing sanctions against players who tinker with their consoles to receive more EXP and REQ points. Starting yesterday, players caught cheating were penalised accordingly. Aside from that, 343 Industries also made a minor change to SWAT mode, which includes a lengthened spawn timer.
