On the Xbox One: How "Homefront: The Revolution" Fares

"Homefront: The Revolution" is shaping up to be the awaited sequel that will be taking advantage of the next-gen hardware and technology.

This is already seen in the Xbox One and how the team was able to maximise the offering of CryEngine to as far that it can as possible. Speaking with Fashat Shalim, Crytek UK Associate Producer, Xbox Wire got the lowdown on how "Homefront: The Revolution" looks on the Xbox One.

According to Shalim, the Xbox One has allowed for an open-world game that takes guerilla warfare into a more realistic and dynamic setting. Like other open-world games, the players' actions and decisions affects the environment as well as other inhabitants.

"Yes, we were really interested in the setting and the premise of the original "Homefront." It was very different from what you find in first-person shooters these days; the prevailing narrative these days is that you're a badass military soldier, running around the world just shooting bad guys... you are the ultimate machine," said Shalim to Xbox Wire.

As far as other aspects of the game is concerned, Shalim also reveals that there will be a confirmed four-player co-op and an exploration of a setting that has very similar features and districts in Philadelphia.

"'Homefront' kind of flipped this and changed the dynamic by bringing the battlefields to the U.S.; now the combat is in our own backyard. This is a familiar environment, but it's also changed--it's alien."
